Nomad is a small seaside hotel in Analipsi, on the north coast of Crete. Stone, olive wood and linen. Slow mornings, the beach two hundred metres from the gate, and ancient Knossos half an hour away, whenever you feel like it.

Five room types, all for two, all with a view of the sea. Some open onto a balcony, one onto a private pool, others onto a jacuzzi on the veranda. The same lime plaster and olive wood throughout, a different light in each.
Facilities
A swim before breakfast. Coffee in the shade. Then dinner, and nobody wants it to end.
Pool & sun terrace
Sunbeds and parasols around the water, black Cretan stone, and a swim whenever the heat asks for one.
The restaurant
Achinos Seaside Restaurant is ours too. Cretan cooking and seafood under the pergola.
Breakfast
A buffet of local produce, included with every room, for mornings that start slowly.
Lounge & bar
Coffee in the morning, raki after dark, and a deep armchair in the shade in between.
Sea-view terrace
Late light over the Cretan Sea, and in some rooms a jacuzzi on the veranda to watch it from.
Courtyard & garden
Olive trees in clay pots, the smell of thyme, and lime plaster walls that keep the afternoon cool.

The location
Analipsi sits between the mountains and the Cretan Sea, in the municipality of Hersonissos. Walk two hundred metres and you are at the sea. Heraklion airport and Knossos are each about half an hour away.
